Hlynur Skulason

Deep Learning Engineer at RetInSight

Hlynur Skulason has a diverse work experience spanning from 2014 to 2021. Hlynur is currently working as a Deep Learning Engineer at RetInSight, starting in July 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Hi-D Imaging as a Data Engineer from March 2020 to June 2021. In this role, they developed a platform for pre-processing and segmenting heart-related organs in MRI and CT volumes, and created a semi-automatic segmentation program using Computer Vision and Image Analysis algorithms.

In 2018, Hlynur worked as a Summer Researcher at ETH Zürich, where they conducted a research project with Prof. Klaas Pruessmann, specifically investigating spiral k-space trajectories in MRI. Before that, in 2017, they worked as a Summer Researcher at Háskóli Íslands, collaborating with Prof. Magnus Ulfarsson on a research project involving Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques applied to brain MRI scans.

Lastly, Hlynur gained early work experience as a Summer Shift Manager at Ólíverzlun Íslands hf from 2014 to 2016.

Hlynur Skulason completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Háskóli Íslands from 2014 to 2017. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at ETH Zürich from 2017 to 2019.
