Robert Anderson has a diverse and extensive work experience in the waste management and recycling industry. Robert started their career as a District Representative/Supervisor at BFI (Browning Ferris Industries) in 1987 and eventually became the Acquisition Manager. In this role, they were responsible for all solid waste and medical waste acquisitions in seven Eastern states, valued and closed multiple acquisitions, and negotiated divestitures for the company.
Robert then moved on to Allied Waste, where they worked as an Area Market Development Representative, handling national accounts and solid waste acquisitions on the East Coast. During their time there, they successfully closed nine acquisitions.
Anderson joined FCR Recycling, Inc in 2005 as a Business Development Executive. Robert was responsible for new tonnage growth in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Robert played a key role in negotiating a contract with the City of Philadelphia for single-stream conversion.
In 2007, Anderson became the Director of Business Development and Marketing at FCR Recycling. Robert supported area managers in the profitable growth of inbound volume for all 24 FCR facilities and implemented strategic business plans. Robert also introduced a contract strategy and commission program to incentivize sales representatives.
From 2011 to 2017, Anderson worked at ReCommunity Recycling as the Mid Atlantic Region Business Development Manager. Robert supported the profitable growth of inbound volume for multiple facilities and managed a team of business development representatives.
Most recently, Anderson served as the Vice President of Business Development at retrievr. Robert contributed to the company's mission of making it easy for people to return unwanted clothing, shoes, and electronics for recycling.
Throughout their career, Anderson has demonstrated their expertise in business development, sales, acquisitions, and strategic planning in the waste management industry.
Robert Anderson attended Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania from 1981 to 1982, where they pursued a field of study in Communications. Subsequently, they enrolled at Florida State University from 1983 to 1985, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Communications.
