Derek Low has had an extensive work history spanning over three decades. Derek began their career in 1991 as an Infantry Soldier in HM Forces. Derek then worked as an IT Helpdesk Technician at SPP from 1998 to 2000, providing support to a large client environment and upgrading satellite offices.

In 2000, Derek joined Alecta as a System Administrator, where they focused on managing the network infrastructure and played a central role in the company's design and implementation of its WSS 2. Derek continued in this role until 2008.

After leaving Alecta, Derek worked as a Senior IT Consultant at CGI, where they facilitated a cost reduction project and was involved in the migration and transition of the IT infrastructure. Derek then joined Intertek in 2009, first as the Regional IT Lead - EMEA, aligning technical IT teams across different locations, and later as the IT Lead - North Europe, managing IT services and coordinating infrastructure projects. Derek worked at Intertek until 2021.

In 2021, Derek joined Klarna as a Senior Engineering Manager - Disaster Recovery Manager. Derek was responsible for managing the design, implementation, and communication of the company's disaster recovery framework and worked closely with risk management teams and third-party suppliers for DR testing.

After leaving Klarna in 2022, Derek became the Head of Disaster Recovery at Deriv until 2023. Currently, they are working as an Information Technology Management Consultant at Retune AB, starting in March 2023.

Derek Low attended Stockholm University from 2005 to 2007, where they studied Business Economics, Law, and Marketing. Prior to that, they attended Wirral Metropolitan College from 1989 to 1991, but the specific field of study is unknown.
