Joyce Nabuurs

Joyce Nabuurs is a professional specializing in strategy and business development at ReumaNederland since April 2021, while also serving as a PhD candidate and researcher at the Athena - Research and Education Institute. Joyce has prior experience as a researcher and lecturer at Athena, focusing on the societal impacts of emerging medical technologies, particularly the artificial womb, and has presented at various conferences. In addition to academic roles, Joyce has a background in fashion modeling, representing agencies across major cities for over a decade, and has completed several internships analyzing the implications of reproductive technologies, neuroaesthetics, communication in operating rooms, and the societal engagement potential of bio-art. Joyce holds a Master of Science in Management, Policy-Analysis, and Entrepreneurship in Health and Life Sciences and a Master of Philosophy in Philosophy, Bio-ethics, and Health from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Medicine from the University of Amsterdam.
