Ben Welsh serves as the News Applications Editor at Reuters, where Ben founded the News Applications Desk and leads the development of data-driven tools to enhance journalism. Previously, Ben collaborated with DePaul University's Center for Journalism Integrity & Excellence as a CJIE Fellow, inspiring future reporters through investigative reporting. Ben has also taught data analysis courses at the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas and developed data journalism products at Stanford University and Los Angeles Times. Additional experience includes cofounding the California Civic Data Coalition, freelance web development, and serving as Assistant Database Editor at the Center for Public Integrity. Ben holds a Master’s degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Bachelor's degree from DePaul University.
