Jane Kay is an experienced writer specializing in environmental journalism, with a career spanning several decades. Since March 2017, Jane has contributed to Reveal from The Center for Investigative Reporting and has been a contributing writer for National Geographic since February 2015. Previous roles include a writer for Environmental Health News from 2009 to 2014 and an environmental writer for the San Francisco Chronicle and SFGATE from 2000 to 2009. Jane also served as an adjunct lecturer and director of the Environmental Journalism Program at the University of California, Berkeley, from 1990 to 2003. Earlier in their career, Jane held environmental writing positions at the San Francisco Examiner from 1986 to 2000 and the Arizona Daily Star from 1969 to 1986. Jane holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Arizona.
