Sarah Burnett, PhD

Sarah Burnett, PhD has a diverse work experience in the biotech industry. Sarah is currently the Senior Director of Business Development at ReviR Therapeutics, a small molecule RNA-targeting company focused on CNS, oncology, and genetic disease indications. Prior to this, they worked as a Strategy and Business Development Consultant for early-stage biotech companies, where they provided expertise in business strategy, corporate development, competitive intelligence, and operations. Sarah also has experience as the Director of Business Development at Alexandria Real Estate Equities, where they focused on building the life sciences ecosystem in the San Diego region and establishing business development strategies. Sarah also served as a Senior Analyst and Co-Head of GradLabs at Alexandria Venture Investments, the strategic venture arm of Alexandria Real Estate Equities. Sarah has a strong background in alliance management and strategic partnerships, having worked as a Senior Manager at Ionis Pharmaceuticals, where they managed partnerships with pharmaceutical and satellite companies, as well as research-based programs. Sarah began their career as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California San Diego, conducting doctoral research on protein homeostasis and autophagy.

Sarah Burnett, PhD completed their Bachelors degree in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at Boston University. Sarah then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biological Sciences at UC San Diego, which they successfully completed in the years 2010-2015.
