Shawn Weir

Shawn Weir has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as a Food Server at Red Lobster from 2013 to 2017. During this time, they processed customer payments, responded to inquiries, and provided outstanding customer service. In 2017, Shawn served as the Student Government Vice-President at Delaware State University, where they called special Senate meetings, coordinated committee work, and completed assigned duties subject to Senate approval. In 2018, they worked as a Management Assistant at Enterprise Rent-A-Car, resolving guest complaints, taking initiative to find additional tasks, and building effective relationships with peers and upper management. From 2020 to 2021, Shawn worked as a Sales and Marketing Specialist at IM Academy, managing event budgets, leading meetings, and training individuals on direct sales and social media advertising. In 2021, they joined Sallie Mae as a Customer Care Specialist, where they promptly responded to customer inquiries, processed payments using AWS systems, and effectively fulfilled guests' requests. Additionally, in 2022, Shawn worked as a Science Educator at Windsor Mill Middle School, and in 2023, they served as a Middle School Science Teacher at KIPP DC. Finally, in 2023, they became a Computer Science Teacher (Summer School) at Rex Academy.

Shawn Weir's education history includes a variety of academic achievements. Shawn obtained a Google IT Support Professional degree in IT Support from Merit America, with an estimated completion year of 2022. Prior to that, from 2013 to 2018, they attended Delaware State University and earned a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science. In 2014 to 2015, they briefly attended the State University of New York at Old Westbury, though no degree was obtained during that period. Shawn also graduated from Bayside High School in 2013, where they received a High School Diploma with a field of study in Sports Medicine.

In addition to their formal education, Shawn has also acquired additional certifications. Shawn completed "The Bits and Bytes of Computer Networking" and "Technical Fundamentals" certifications at Merit America in December 2022 and November 2022, respectively.
