Jim Cowles

Director, Benefits Compliance at Reynolds American

Jim Cowles, CEBS has extensive experience in employee benefits and executive compensation. Jim worked as a Director of Benefits Compliance at Reynolds American Inc. from 2017. In this role, they were responsible for ensuring overall compliance with employee benefit plans and acted as a liaison between various internal departments and external ERISA counsel. Before joining Reynolds American Inc., Jim worked at King and Spalding as a Consultant in the Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Practice. Jim Cowles, CEBS, holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown. Jim also has a CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) certification from The Wharton School and an ABA certificate in Employee Benefits from the Philadelphia Paralegal Institute. Jim completed their high school education at Bedford High School. Additionally, they have obtained the CEBS certification from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP).
