Susan Fields

Susan Smitherman Fields, CPA, currently serves as the Senior Finance Manager for OpCo Accounting at Reynolds American Inc. since September 2025. Prior to this role, Susan held various accounting positions at Unifi Manufacturing, Inc. from July 2019 to September 2025, including Accounting Manager and Senior Accountant. Susan also worked at Sharrard McGee & Co., P.A. as a Senior Accountant and Staff Accountant from September 2014 to June 2019, and at Smith Miller & Buff, CPA, PA as a Staff Accountant from August 2012 to September 2014. Early career experience includes serving as an Accounting Assistant at ECRS and volunteering with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, where Susan provided free tax preparation assistance. Education includes a Master’s Degree in Accounting and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Appalachian State University.
