Rien Wessels has a diverse and extensive work experience in product and sales engineering, as well as product development. They started their career as an intern engineer/designer at Sealskin, where they were involved in the design and engineering of a new shower concept. They then became a product developer at Sealskin, focusing on the design and engineering of sanitary products, particularly shower enclosures. Rien also represented the sustainability group and worked on improving the product development process of the department.

After Sealskin, Rien worked as a product developer at DYKA B.V., specializing in product development for plastic piping systems. They were responsible for various aspects of the development process, including product design, evaluation, and management of internal requirements.

Subsequently, Rien joined Brink Climate Systems as a product engineer, where they were involved in the development of climate system products, particularly hardware components for air heating and ventilation systems.

Rien then joined Philips as an engineer, working on general engineering tasks for a variety of projects.

After Philips, Rien became a product engineer at Hunter Douglas Europe, focusing on the development of products within the organization.

Following this, Rien worked at COOLBACK Company as a product engineer, where they were responsible for product engineering tasks.

Rien then joined Corbier Iconic Materials and Reynolds Polymer Technology as a product/sales engineer, focusing on sales and engineering activities related to their respective products.

Most recently, Rien became a director and co-founder of ClearRock B.V.

Rien Wessels completed a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Industrial Product Design from Saxion University of Applied Sciences from 2003 to 2009. Prior to that, from 1999 to 2003, they attended Drenthe College, where they studied MTS Mechanical Engineering. Before entering Drenthe College, Rien Wessels pursued a field of study in VBO Metalworking at Katholiek Drents College from 1995 to 1999.

In addition to their formal education, Rien Wessels obtained certifications. In March 2019, they received a Heftruck certificaat - veilig werken met de heftruck (Forklift certificate - safe operation of forklifts) from HOC Opleiding & Training. Furthermore, in April 2015, they obtained a Basisveiligheid (VCA) certification from IBEX Examenbureau bv.
