Jim Portaro

Jim Portaro is Principal and Founder of RF-Works, Inc. and a seasoned business services leader and entrepreneur with a successful track record of building tech-enabled service businesses as differentiated segment leaders.

Jim started RF-Works in 2004 as a Consulting and Engineering Services firm out of a market need for unbiased wireless & mobility consulting. RF-Works has successfully designed and implemented thousands of wireless networks across the country for some of the largest hospitals, medical centers, Fortune 100 enterprises and State governments. They also created an award winning Wireless as a Service WaaS offering.

Prior to RF-Works, Jim co-founded NeTeam, another industry wireless leader. Jim was also a key executive at Telxon and Aironet, acquired by Cisco. He has 30 years of RF communication experience and holds patents in power supplies for Access Points. Jim is credited with designing and implementing the first wireless hospital in 1992.
