Tim von Werne has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Tim is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at RFC Power, a technology development company focused on offering cost-effective electrochemical energy storage solutions. Prior to joining RFC Power, Tim worked as a Senior Technology Transfer Executive at Imperial Innovations, where they played a key role in transferring technology from Imperial College to commercial applications. Before that, they served as the Technical Director at Applied Graphene Materials, where they contributed to the development of advanced materials. Tim also held the position of Chief Scientific Officer at Semblant Technologies, where they managed the development of a new plasma coating process. Earlier in their career, they worked at Plastic Logic as the Director of Research, overseeing the transfer of flexible display manufacturing from lab-scale to large-scale production. Tim also served as a Research Group Manager at Plastic Logic, where they developed new processes for manufacturing flexible displays. Tim started their career as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at IBM Almaden Research Centre and Stanford University, where they specialized in nanotechnology and surface polymerization technology. Throughout their career, Tim has gained expertise in various areas such as electronics manufacturing, process development, thin film characterization, and surface chemistry.

Tim von Werne obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemistry from Florida International University, where they studied for four years from 1992 to 1996. Following their undergraduate studies, Tim pursued a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry at the University of California, Davis, from 1997 to 2001.
