Jugajyoti Baruah

Jugajyoti Baruah, Ph.D., is an accomplished scientist currently serving as Scientist II in Target Biology at Rgenta Therapeutics Inc. since May 2022. Previous roles include Postdoctoral Research Fellow at FogPharma, focusing on cell-penetrating peptides for cancer therapeutics, and Visiting Scientist at Massachusetts General Hospital, collaborating on peptide penetration and target engagement studies. As a Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School, Baruah investigated synapse-specific genes in neuro-developmental disorders and the expression patterns of Serine Racemase related to schizophrenia. Early career experiences include a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where research centered on endothelial cell regeneration in cardiovascular tissues, along with roles in tutoring and research fellowship. Education includes a PhD in Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology and a Master’s in Biomedical Genetics, with foundational studies in Biotechnology.
