Merritt Mcgowan

Merritt McGowan currently serves as the Chief Legal & Compliance Officer and Company Secretary at Rhapsody since October 2018. Prior experience includes roles as Legal Counsel at Orion Health from March 2017 to October 2018, and Assistant General Counsel at the Commonwealth Health Insurance Connector Authority from November 2012 to March 2017. Merritt began a career in law as a Mediator/Policy Analyst in the Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General's Health Care Division, followed by a six-month rotation as Special Assistant District Attorney at the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office in 2012. Additional positions held include Senior Researcher for the Massachusetts Legislature’s Joint Committee on Health Care Financing and Contract Attorney at Van Dam & Traini. Merritt's early career included a role as Research Associate at The Spangenberg Group and legal internships at Greater Boston Legal Services and the United States Attorney's Office. Educational credentials include a Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and English from Colgate University.
