Ir. Hamzah Amir

Ir. Hamzah Amir has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Ir. Hamzah currently serves as the Head of Digital Technology and Engineering at RHB Banking Group, where they focus on software development, QA, platform engineering, cloud, architecture, engineering management, and technology strategy.

Prior to their current role, Ir. Hamzah held various positions at webe digital, Telekom Malaysia, Packet One Networks (P1), Celcom Axiata Berhad, TM Cellular Sdn Bhd, Alcatel Reseaux d'Entreprise, XLIM, and France Telecom. These roles allowed him to lead innovation, establish delivery ecosystems, pioneer new initiatives, and drive technical projects ranging from digital business scaling to network migrations.

Ir. Hamzah Amir has a diverse education history. Ir. Hamzah obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Engineering (Diplome d'Ingenieur) with a focus on Electronic, Telecommunications, and Instrumentation from ENSIL-ENSCI in 2001. In 1998, they completed a two-year program in génie des télécommunications et des réseaux, earning a DUT (IUT de Colmar) from Université de Haute-Alsace Mulhouse-Colmar. Prior to that, they completed their SPM / GCE O-Level in science at Sekolah Sultan Alam Shah from 1990 to 1994. Hamzah later pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a specialization in strategic management at the International Islamic University Malaysia from 2009 to 2011. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications, including Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO I) from Scrum.org and Design Thinking Bootcamp and Train-The-Trainer Program from TM - Stanford University. Ir. Hamzah is also a Corporate Member of The Institution of Engineers Malaysia and a Professional Engineer with a practicing certificate from the Board of Engineers Malaysia.
