Shawn Gong

Shawn Gong has held a variety of positions in the technology sector since 2012. Shawn began their career as a Lead Technology Consultant at Deloitte, followed by a role as Head of Growth - Product Management at Grindr from 2016 to 2018. Shawn then moved to GOAT Group as Head of International - Product Management from 2018 to 2022. Most recently, Shawn has been Head of Product Growth at Rheaply since 2022. Prior to this, they were Head of Mobile - Product Management at a Stealth Startup from 2014 to 2016. During this time, they achieved 1,000% revenue growth, 5.2M MAU, 11K active merchants, and 175M tracked packages in a year. Shawn also received the Best Interactive Product Award (from Qualcomm) and the Best Toys (from Parents Magazine), and launched award-winning AR mobile apps featured in Apple WWDC and Google I/O with 2M downloads. Shawn initiated localization in 4 languages, app store optimization, device compatibility, and usability testing.

Shawn Gong has a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Sichuan University. Shawn then obtained a Master's Degree in Engineering Management from the University of Southern California. In 2019, they obtained an Advanced Adventurer certification from Scuba Schools International. In 2018, they obtained an Open Water Diver certification from Scuba Schools International. In 2017, they obtained a Crucial Conversations certification from VitalSmarts and a Certified Scrum Product Owner certification from Scrum Alliance. Currently, they are pursuing an Executive MBA from Quantic School of Business and Technology, and will be attending Reforge in 2022.
