Stephen Bates has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Stephen is the CEO of RHEON LABS, where they lead a team of scientists, engineers, and designers to develop energy control solutions for various product categories. Prior to that, they served as the UK Director at Cubane Consulting, where they developed the UniForum program for university management. Stephen also held the position of CEO at Reaqua Systems Ltd, where they ensured the company was investor-ready and facilitated its transfer to the Environmental Energies Fund. Stephen Bates has also served as the Chairman of GradFutures and as the CEO of Whitfield Solar Ltd, where they defined the company strategy and raised significant capital. Stephen was the UK CEO at ANGLE Technology, where they recruited a senior investment team and secured funding from premier City institutions. Stephen Bates previously held roles at Marks and Spencer, Arthur D. Little, and Scientific Generics.

Stephen Bates obtained an MA degree in Engineering from the University of Cambridge from 1982 to 1985. Stephen then pursued an MBA at Cranfield School of Management from 1994 to 1995. In addition, they obtained a certification in FRSA (Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce) from The RSA in September 2001.
