Melany P. P.

Melany P. P. currently serves as the President of the University Professionals of Illinois Local 4100 and as the Regional IV-West Counselor for the Rho Chi Society. With an extensive academic career at Chicago State University since 2008, Melany has held multiple roles, including Director of Interprofessional Education, Professor, Chair of the Institutional Review Board, Director of Learning Outcomes, Interim Capstone Director, and Associate Professor, developing key curricula for the new pharmacy program. Previous positions include Book Review Editor for the Journal of Natural Products, Executive Committee Member for the American Society of Pharmacognosy, and Research Associate at the Smithsonian Institution. Melany's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Pharmacognosy from the University of Mississippi, along with Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Biology and Chemistry, respectively.
