Mallory Leonard currently works at Newport Mental Health as a Children’s Outpatient Clinician, Children’s Crisis Clinician, and Intake Counselor, where responsibilities include conducting intake assessments, diagnosing clients, and facilitating referrals. In addition to this role since February 2023, Mallory serves as a Human Resources Specialist for the Rhode Island Army National Guard. Previous experience includes working as a Direct Support Professional and Transitional Specialist at Westbay Residential Services from January 2018 to July 2022, and serving as an Alto Scholar at Trinity Church. Mallory also has experience as a nanny, caring for infants. Educationally, Mallory holds a Master’s in Trauma Counseling from Fisher College and a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Psychology from the University of Rhode Island.

The Rhode Island Army National Guard is the nation's oldest military branch which consists of more that 2,200 members serving both state and federal governments. The Rhode Island Army National Guard has served and remains as an active force in the Global War on Terrorism, with units that have deployed worldwide in direct support of national security objectives. In times of local emergencies and natural disasters, the Rhode Island Guard is called upon to provide military support to civil authorities. Despite being the smallest state, Rhode Island is the only state with a Special Forces Unit, a Special Operations Detachment unit, and an Airborne Infantry.
