Melissa DePalma's work experience includes various roles with different organizations. Melissa started their career at Endicott College as a Campus Safety Officer and later became a Residence Director. Melissa then moved on to Johnson & Wales University, where they served as the Placement Coordinator, Assistant Director of Student Housing Systems, and eventually, the Associate Director of Housing Operations. Currently, they are working at the Rhode Island Army National Guard, where they have held several positions, including Senior System Administrator, Management Information Systems Manager, Acting Chief Information Officer/G6, Signal Officer, and currently serves as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Information Management/CIO.

Melissa DePalma completed their education at Endicott College from 2001 to 2003, earning a Masters of Education degree in Organizational Leadership. Before that, they attended Keene State College from 1992 to 1997, where they obtained a Bachelor of Music Education degree in Music Education. Furthermore, Melissa has also obtained additional certifications, including being a certified ethical hacker from EC-Council in May 2018, completing the Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services course from Cybrary in April 2017, and acquiring the CompTIA Security+ ce certification from CompTIA in July 2016.

Rhode Island Army National Guard

The Rhode Island Army National Guard is the nation's oldest military branch which consists of more that 2,200 members serving both state and federal governments. The Rhode Island Army National Guard has served and remains as an active force in the Global War on Terrorism, with units that have deployed worldwide in direct support of national security objectives. In times of local emergencies and natural disasters, the Rhode Island Guard is called upon to provide military support to civil authorities. Despite being the smallest state, Rhode Island is the only state with a Special Forces Unit, a Special Operations Detachment unit, and an Airborne Infantry.
