Emily Garthee, MBA, SHRM-CP, PHR, serves as the Chief Operating Officer at RIPIN since July 2010, where responsibilities have included roles such as Growth and Development Officer and Director of Human Resources and Quality Assurance. Earlier experience includes various managerial positions in Human Resources and Operations at Lord & Taylor from 1999 to 2006. Educational qualifications include a Master of Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University (2017-2020) and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing from the University of Rhode Island (1995-1999). Emily is also a member of the Tau II Class of 2023 at Leadership Rhode Island.

Peer professionals helping Rhode Islanders of all abilities, ages, and backgrounds get the support they need to thrive. RIPIN’s programs and services are rooted in the peer-to-peer model of support, education and empowerment, where a RIPIN peer with personal experience assists others as a mentor, advocate, and motivator. RIPIN has certified 67 employees as Community Health Worker(CHW), representing over 75% of certified CHWs in the state. With national recognition for its model, RIPIN’s peer CHWs are part of patient-centered medical home settings, physicians’ offices as well as primary and secondary educational settings across the state.
