Joseph Bentley

Joseph Bentley is an accomplished musician and educator with extensive experience in classical and electric bass. Currently serving as an Artist/Teacher in Classical String Bass at the University of Rhode Island since September 2018, Bentley also holds the position of Instrumental Music Director at Portsmouth Abbey School and Lecturer at Johnson & Wales University. Additional roles include Private Double Bass Teacher at Wheaton College (MA) and various substitute positions with the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra and Music School, New Bedford Symphony Orchestra, and as a contractor for Glorae Dei Artes. Bentley's professional performance experience encompasses electric bass with Jesse Liam Band and Niki Luparelli and the Gold Diggers. Bentley's academic credentials include a Master of Arts in Double Bass from the Royal Academy of Music and a Bachelor of Music from Rhode Island College.
