Arun Luthra

Data Scientist at Rhombus Power

Arun Luthra has worked as a Data Scientist for Rhombus Power Inc. since 2022. Prior to that, they took a sabbatical from 2020-2022, during which they worked as a Data Scientist and Physicist on an R&D and patent development project. From 2014-2020, they were a Senior Data Scientist at AT&T, where they researched and developed data products and predictive machine learning algorithms. From 2005-2014, they were a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Riverside, where they developed data-driven methods for selecting signal-like interactions from trillions of background events. In 2005, they were a Contractor at Google. In 2004, they were a Research Assistant at Purdue University, where they wrote a C++ program to evaluate solid angle-based models of the acceptance of an HPGe gamma ray detector. Arun began their professional career in 2001 as an Intern at Lockheed Martin, where they participated in all aspects of laboratory studies and planned, conducted, and analyzed multivariate experiments on fused coatings for NASA Space Shuttle upgrade.

Arun Luthra began their educational journey in 1996 at Leigh High School, where they completed their high school education in 2000. Arun then attended Purdue University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Applied Physics in 2004. Following this, they attended the University of California, Riverside, where they earned a Master of Science (M.S.) in Physics in 2007. Finally, they returned to the University of California, Riverside to complete their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics in 2013.
