Merili Soosalu is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in EU affairs and cyber resilience. Currently serving as the LAC Regional Programme Lead at the EU CyberNet project at the Estonian Information System Authority since April 2021, Merili Soosalu focuses on enhancing cyber capabilities in Latin America and the Caribbean. In conjunction, Merili Soosalu leads the Cyber4Dev Consortium, contributing to a global EU project on cyber capacity building. Previously, from September 2018 to April 2021, Merili Soosalu worked as a JHA counsellor on Home Affairs at the Estonian Permanent Representation to the EU, managing complex policies related to borders, visas, and pandemic response. Prior roles include advising on EU affairs at the Estonian Ministry of the Interior and engaging in gender equality initiatives. Merili Soosalu holds a Master's degree in European politics from Sciences Po Strasbourg and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Université Lumière Lyon 2, along with additional studies in political science and gender studies.
