Gerald Wirnsberger

Gerald Wirnsberger currently serves as the Head of R&D at Ribbon Biolabs since September 2022. Prior to this role, Gerald worked as the Scientific Innovation Scout at invIOs INNOVATIVE IMMUNO-ONCOLOGY from January 2022 to August 2022 and as the Head of Discovery and Non-Clinical Research at APEIRON Biologics AG from October 2017 to February 2022. In this latter position, responsibilities included the development and oversight of clinical and nonclinical programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and addressing arising issues with innovative solutions. Previous roles include Project Head and Research Scientist at APEIRON Biologics AG and Postdoctoral Fellow at IMBA - Institute of Molecular Biotechnology in Vienna, among others. Gerald holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Vienna and both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Biology and Genetics and Biotechnology from Paris Lodron Universität Salzburg.
