Ramamurty Changalvala

Ramamurty Changalvala has worked in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries since 1997. Ramamurty began their career as a Process Chemist at Global Bulk Drugs, a Nicholas Piramal India Limited company, where they were responsible for scale up, route selection, and process improvement. In 2006, they moved to the Natural Products and Glycotechnology Research Institute as a Postdoctoral Research Associate, where they developed methodology, conducted anti-bacterial vaccine research, and synthesized cell wall components and arabinomannan oligosaccharides. From 2010 to 2014, they worked at CiVentiChem as a Research Scientist, where they supported medicinal chemistry for a pro-drug against Hepatitis C Virus and was involved in SAR, lead optimization, metabolite synthesis, route scouting, and process development. From 2014 to 2019, they were employed at Chimerix, Inc. as a Senior Scientist and Research Scientist, where they worked on antiviral and anticancer drug development, synthesis, instrumentation, and strategic and operational management of different chemistry projects. Ramamurty also wrote patents and publications. In 2021, they joined Curie Therapeutics as Director of Chemistry and, in 2022, they moved to Ribometrix Inc. as Associate Director.

Ramamurty Changalvala earned a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology between 2000 and 2006.
