Keri Cavanaugh has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Keri began their career in 1998 as a Designer and Seamstress at Dirty Kren Fashions, where they worked until 2001. From there, they transitioned to the field of art and museum logistics, starting as an International Shipping Assistant at Crozier Fine Art Services from 2000 to 2002. Keri then moved on to The Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology, where they worked in museum exhibitions installation from 2001 to 2002. In 2002, Keri joined the Peace Corps as an Agriculture Volunteer, serving until 2004. Keri then joined Artech Fine Art Services as a Pack/Ship Manager from 2004 to 2008. Following that, they worked as the Manager of Traveling Exhibitions at the American Museum of Natural History from 2008 to 2011. In 2011, Keri became a Small Business Owner of Owl & Thistle General Store, a local and sustainable urban mercantile, until 2017. From 2016 to 2019, they also held the position of Museum and Exhibition Coordinator at Masterpiece International, Ltd. Currently, they are the Head Registrar at Richard Gray Gallery, a role they have held since 2018. Throughout their career, Keri has gained experience in various aspects of art logistics, museum operations, small business management, and international shipping.

Keri Cavanaugh began their education at the University of Connecticut in 1994, where they pursued a field of study in Natural Resource Management. Keri later attended the University of Limerick in 1996 to further their studies in Irish Studies. In 1997, they enrolled at the University at Buffalo, where they focused on Art History and Marketing, ultimately earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. Following their undergraduate studies, Keri completed a Master of Arts degree in Museum Studies with a specialization in Costumes and Textiles at the Fashion Institute of Technology from 1999 to 2001.
