Annie Laurie McDonald is a Senior Architectural Historian at Richard Grubb and Associates, Inc. since September 2021. Previously, McDonald served as a Preservation Specialist at the North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources - Western Office, contributing to historic preservation efforts across a 25-county region from February 2012 to August 2021. McDonald has experience as a Trainer for the National Alliance of Preservation Commissions’ Commissions Assistance and Mentoring Program from October 2014 to May 2017, and as a Preservation Planner for the Town of Leesburg, Virginia, between September 2005 and January 2012. Prior roles include Preservation Planner at the Southeast Tennessee Development District and Architectural Historian/Surveyor at EHT Traceries. McDonald holds a Master of Arts in History/Historic Preservation from Youngstown State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from PennWest Edinboro.
