Laurie Garvie is the Executive Director and President of Richardson Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Director of Development. Laurie previously worked as an Executive Consultant at Executives in Action, Non-Profit Consulting, publicizing fundraisers for organizations like Austin Street Center and Kitchen Dog Theater. Prior to that, Laurie held various product development management roles at JCPenney, overseeing private-brand handbags, children's products, and home goods. Laurie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from The University of Texas at Austin.

The RSO is Supported by a dedicated Board of Directors, the Richardson Symphony League, and community volunteers, all of whom contribute to the success of the Richardson Symphony Orchestra. 🎼 The RSO was founded in 1961 by a group of Music Lovers with Support from Businesses and Civic Organizations and the first Concert debuted on October 30, 1962 with 55 Orchestra Members and CHRIS XEROX as Conductor. The RSO has grown to become the Pre-Eminent Suburban Orchestra • an Authentic Regional Treasure! 🎼 The RSO is the resident Symphony of the Eisemann Center for Performing Arts and offers a variety of Classical and Pop Concerts. Each season brings forth a combination of Programs which appeal to the varied Audience of the community. 🎼 The RSO further seeks to Educate Current and Future Audiences for a Lifelong Involvement with Symphonic Music by providing High Quality • Comprehensive Music Education • including interactive Children's Concerts and Performance Opportunities for Young • Talented Musicians.
