Erin Austin is a seasoned mental health professional with extensive experience in counseling and management. As the Private Practice Owner at Brighter Perspective Counseling and Consulting since January 2022, Erin provides comprehensive mental health services. Previously, Erin held various roles at Richmond Behavioral Health Authority, including Manager, Clinical Supervisor, and Mental Health Clinician, starting in July 2006. Additional experience includes working as a Mental Health Clinician at John Randolph Hospital from June 2007 to May 2009 and as a Counselor at Commonwealth Catholic Charities from August 2005 to January 2008. Erin holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University (2004-2006) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Anthropology from James Madison University (2001-2004).

Richmond Behavioral Health Authority (RBHA) is licensed by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and is the statutorily established public entity responsible for providing mental health, developmental services, substance use disorders and prevention services to the citizens of the City of Richmond. Integrated services are available for adults, children and families through a central intake unit. Services are provided directly by staff of the Authority and through contracts with private providers in the community
