Shawn M. Weisser

Shawn M. Weisser possesses extensive experience in library media services and academic support, currently serving as the Dean of Academic Supports and School Culture at Richmond Public Schools since August 2017. Previously, Shawn held roles as a Teacher Librarian at Surry County Public Schools and Wythe County Schools, where responsibilities included assisting students and teachers with media requirements, managing library collections, and teaching library skills. In addition, Shawn served as the York Region Director for the Virginia Association of School Librarians, facilitating professional development for regional librarians, and held positions such as Interim Coordinator of Library Media Services at Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools. Educational qualifications include a Certificate in Educational Leadership from Longwood University, a MLS from North Carolina Central University, and various degrees in history and education from the University of Maine and University of Maine at Presque Isle.
