Manager Of Sustainability at City of Richmond Hill

Ruth Rendon is currently the Manager of Sustainability for the City of Richmond Hill, a position held since January 2023. Prior to this role, Ruth served as a Senior Environmental Planner and Acting Manager of Environmental Sustainability for the City of Vaughan from May 2016 to January 2023. Ruth's experience includes a six-year tenure as a Senior Environmental Planner for the City of Markham from June 2010 to May 2016, and earlier roles as a Project Planner at Stantec Consulting Inc. and a Planner at Jacques Whitford AXYS. Ruth began a professional career in planning with a role as an Environmental Planner at Marshall Macklin Monaghan Limited, following a position as Project Officer at the Canadian Urban Institute. Educationally, Ruth holds a Master's degree in Environmental Studies in Urban Planning from York University, complemented by a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Certificate in Urban Studies/Sociology from York University, and additional studies at the University of Aveiro and the University of the Americas.
