Michael Kerr is a seasoned finance professional currently serving as the Director of Finance at Richmond Region Tourism since April 2023. With a strong background in financial management, Michael has established and executed financial policies, controls, and reporting systems for various organizations. Prior roles include serving as a Finance Faculty and Conference Leader at Church Pension Group, and as a Senior Wealth Advisor at ACIMA Private Wealth, where Michael focused on client engagement and investment strategies. As the former CEO and COO of The Trustees of the Funds, Michael led transformative growth initiatives, effectively expanding the foundation's financial offerings. Michael's earlier experience includes a tenure as CFO/Treasurer for The Diocese of Virginia, along with claims management roles at Commercial Union and Allstate. Michael holds an M.B.A. in Organizational Behavior/Finance from the University of Richmond and has completed Certified Financial Planning coursework at Boston University.

Each year, more than 16 million people visit the Richmond Region, and they contribute close to $2.9 billion to the local economy. Tourism generates almost 24,000 jobs in the Richmond Region. Richmond Region Tourism is a private, not-for-profit dedicated to promoting the Region to meeting, convention and sports event planners, tour operators and leisure travelers. The organization represents the cities of Richmond and Colonial Heights, the town of Ashland and four counties: Chesterfield, Hanover, Henrico and New Kent. Richmond Region Tourism operates Visitor Centers at the Robinson House at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and the Richmond International Airport.
