Amanda Abrams is an accomplished Human Resource professional currently serving as a Human Resource Coordinator at the Rick Hansen Foundation since March 2022. With a strong background in HR management, Amanda previously worked as an HR Coordinator at REACH Community Health Centre, where key achievements included hiring 57 individuals in one year and conducting market analysis for wage increases. Amanda also volunteered as a Human Resources Manager for Yellow Cross Global, assisting in policy writing and recruitment. Prior to HR roles, Amanda held positions in customer experience and retail management at Indigo and London Drugs, respectively. Education includes a Professional Photo-Imaging Diploma from the British Columbia Institute of Technology and studies at Langara College. Amanda is proficient in SharePoint, SAP, SmartRecruiter, and Adobe Creative Suite.

The Rick Hansen Foundation (RHF) is a registered Canadian charity that breaks down barriers for people with disabilities by changing attitudes, creating accessible spaces and inspiring an inclusive society. Established in 1988, following the completion of Rick Hansen’s Man In Motion World Tour, the Foundation continues to raise funds and awareness to create a world without barriers for people with disabilities. Our goal is to create an inclusive world where people with disabilities can reach their full potential. Today, there are more than 1.3 billion people living in the world with some form of a disability, and the numbers are growing. Around the world, people with disabilities not only face physical barriers but also social, economic and attitudinal barriers. We provide solutions to achieve real change through collaboration, partnerships and teamwork. While we have made great strides towards creating an accessible and inclusive world, our work is not yet done.
