Ride On - Cycling For All
Heather Baker is an experienced professional in sustainable travel and cycling initiatives, currently serving as a Trustee for Ride On - Cycling for All since August 2019 and as an elected representative on the Co-op National Member's Council for the South West since May 2019. As the Owner and Sole Director of Saddles & Paddles Exeter Ltd since February 2013, Heather manages an independent bike shop that has been a local fixture for over 20 years. Previously, Heather held several key positions at Devon County Council from April 2004 to December 2012, including Sustainable Travel Officer and Cycle Exeter Project Officer, where notable achievements included leading the Cycling Demonstration Town project and enhancing school travel planning initiatives. Heather's early experience includes a role as a Tourism Assistant at Exeter City Council. Heather holds a BSc in Applied Ecology from Coventry University, completed in 2002.

RideOn is a charity which aims to encourage future car drivers to consider cycling as a relevant alternative to driving by removing some of the perceived obstacles to riding. They are seeking to establish sustainable bicycle training and maintenance courses as well as considering questions around defining a value for social impact.
