Udaya De Silva, MD has extensive work experience in pain management and anesthesia services. Udaya served as a Pain Management Consultant at Meridian Pain Management from 2011 to the present. Udaya also held the position of Medical Director of Pain Management Services at Ridgecrest Regional Hospital since 2018. Additionally, they were the Director of Anesthesia Services and Medical Director at ADVANCED ENDOSCOPY AND PAIN CENTER LLC from 2005 to the present. Prior to that, they worked as a Staff Anesthesiologist at Antelope Valley Hospital from 1991 to 1999. Udaya also served as the Medical Director at Antelope Valley Surgery Center, where they managed clinical operations and focused on interventional pain management procedures from 1999 to 2005.
Udaya De Silva, MD's education history begins in 1977 when they graduated from the University of Colombo with a degree in MBBS, Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery. Udaya then pursued an Internship in General Surgery and Internal Medicine at Colombo South General Hospital from 1982 to 1984.
Dr. De Silva continued their studies at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, completing an Internship in General Surgery Program from 1986 to 1987. Udaya also completed a PGY 2 General Surgery Internship at the same institution in 1987.
Following this, Dr. De Silva attended New York Medical College from 1988 to 1991, where they completed a Residency in Fellowship in Pain Management and Cardiac Anesthesia.
In terms of additional certifications, Dr. De Silva obtained Board Certification in Anesthesiology from The American Board of Anesthesiology in January 1994. Udaya later obtained Board certification in Pain Management from the same institution in January 1996.
In 2016 and 2017, Dr. De Silva attended Harvard Medical School for an International course in Palpation-based acupuncture for Physicians.
