Matthew Swanson

Founding Partner at Ridgewood Infrastructure

Matthew Swanson is an experienced executive with more than a decade of investment and leadership experience at Ridgewood. He first joined the Ridgewood Companies in 2002, and returned full-time upon graduating from Harvard Law School in 2007. Since that time, the Ridgewood Companies have raised more than $5 billion of capital and commitments from leading investors.

In addition to founding Ridgewood Infrastructure, Matthew is also a Senior Managing Director of Ridgewood Energy, where, as part of the firm’s senior leadership team, he participates in overall fund management and strategy, and has served on Ridgewood Energy’s Investment Committee.

Matthew received his J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School, where he focused on corporate, securities, and tax law and was part of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Summer Honors Program, working in the Division of Investment Management. Matthew received his A.B., magna cum laude, from Harvard University, where he concentrated in economics and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. While working towards his J.D., he also earned a master’s degree (LL.M.) in commercial law from the University of Cambridge, England. Matthew is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey.
