John C. Reith

John C. “JR” Reith, is the Chief Operating Officer and a registered lobbyist at RWL. He also is a member of the firm’s Government Relations and Lobbying practice group. He represents Fortune 500 companies, privately held companies, individuals and non-profits. JR has a strong track record of bringing people together to create business opportunities and to solve problems – both political and otherwise.

JR is the lead for all client matters which come in front of the Governor’s office and the state agencies in the Governor’s cabinet. He works closely with clients exploring business with the state, through both procurement and partnership opportunities. In addition, he assists clients looking to bring new industries and technologies to Maryland, supporting them in their efforts and making connections to leaders and decision makers in state government.

JR’s expertise and client work are extensive and includes horse racing, gaming, bank transactions, information technology (IT), hospitals systems, health care IT, long-term care groups, energy, real estate, alcohol manufacturing, engineering, infrastructure, transportation, stadium projects, and education. JR also supports clients in their efforts to be included in the Governor’s capital budget, supplemental budgets and bond bills.

He is well known in the Maryland business community and has contacts and long-time relationships with business leaders in all of Maryland’s 23 counties and the City of Baltimore.

Prior to joining RWL, JR worked for former Governor Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr., where he served as his Finance Director, Fundraiser, and co-chairman for his campaigns for governor. He served as a member of Governor Hogan’s 2015 Inaugural Committee. JR also worked at Brown Advisory and at two early-stage software companies where he was a leader in their business development teams.

JR currently sits on the Board of Directors for The Canton Group, ThinkBig Networks, and the Alumni Association for the Boys’ Latin School of Maryland. He is a former board member of the Star-Spangled Banner Flag House and the GBMC Healthcare Philanthropy Committee.
