Oleksandr Galkin

Oleksandr Galkin is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in humanitarian and migration-related organizations. Currently serving as the Director at Right to Protection since February 2013, Oleksandr has previously held significant roles such as Country Director at HIAS from July 2010 to July 2022, and Director of Programs at the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress from January 2010 to May 2011. Additional expertise includes working as an Expert on Migration at Medecins Sans Frontieres in October 2009 and as Civil Society Coordinator at the Danish Refugee Council from August 2008 to July 2009. Oleksandr's career at HIAS began in January 2003 as Program Coordinator, culminating in the position of Country Manager for Ukraine. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Physics from Charles University and an Executive Master of Business Administration from Kyiv-Mohyla Business School.

Right to Protection

Charitable Fund, Right to Protection (R2P) is a humanitarian aid and development organization providing legal assistance, advocacy services, and humanitarian relief to persons affected by conflict all across Ukraine. Our teams work with IDPs fleeing conflict in eastern Ukraine, they work with refugees and asylum seekers fleeing conflict and human rights violations abroad, and they do impressive work documenting the human rights and humanitarian situation in Ukraine. We have ten offices across the country, spanning from Lviv to Severodonetsk.
