Nicola Macoir has a diverse work experience in the field of research and development. They started their career as a Studiecoach at My Sherpa in February 2017 and worked until January 2018. In October 2017, Nicola joined Ghent University as a Research assistant (PhD candidate) and served until April 2021. During this time, they also worked as a Guest Researcher at Graz University of Technology from February 2019 to March 2019. In April 2021, Nicola transitioned to the role of a Back-end Developer at RightCrowd. Currently, they hold the position of Lead Developer at the same company starting from July 2022.
Nicola Macoir completed a Bachelor of Applied Computer Science with a specialization in Computer & Cyber Crime Professional at Hogeschool West-Vlaanderen - Vlaamse Autonome Hogeschool from 2011 to 2014. Following that, Nicola pursued a Master of Science in Information Engineering Technology at Ghent University from 2014 to 2017. In terms of additional certifications, Nicola obtained a certification in Machine Learning from Ghent University in January 2020, and a certification in Discrete Optimization from the University of Melbourne on Coursera in August 2018.
