Amito Haarhuis

Amito Haarhuis is an accomplished professional in the fields of science and education, currently serving as the Director of Rijksmuseum Boerhaave since April 2018, recognized for its significant scientific and medical heritage, and awarded the European Museum of the Year Award 2019. Concurrently, Amito writes a column for the Science pages of De Telegraaf. Prior experience includes a decade at NEMO, where Amito held various roles including Deputy Director and Programme Manager, leading initiatives to enhance informal science learning. Amito's background also features television presentations, editorial work on STEM education publications, and teaching positions in teacher training colleges. Amito holds an MSc in Biology from Wageningen University & Research and a MEd in Biology from Utrecht University, complemented by leadership training from the Noyce Leadership Institute.
