Paul van Straten is a seasoned professional in project management and infrastructure development with extensive experience at Rijkswaterstaat since January 2018. Currently serving as Project Director for the Taskforce Getij Grevelingen, Paul focuses on ecological restoration efforts in the Grevelingenmeer, collaborating with various stakeholders to provide decision-making information to government ministries. Previously, Paul held the position of Interim Director of Network Management at Rijkswaterstaat Zee en Delta, ensuring the safety and reliability of regional transport networks, and led the department of Explorations and Plan Development. Before joining Rijkswaterstaat, Paul worked at the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment from 2003 to 2017, overseeing significant projects such as the High-Frequency Rail Transport Programme, the Zuidas development in Amsterdam, the High Speed Alliance, and the operational readiness of the Betuweroute. Paul van Straten holds a Master of Arts in Political Science and Government and a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
