Willem de Vries

Willem de Vries is an experienced maritime professional currently serving as Directeur Rijksrederij at Rijkswaterstaat since February 2023, managing a fleet of nearly 100 vessels and overseeing various maritime services. Previously, Willem was the Regional General Manager for KOTUG International in the Middle East, responsible for harbor towage and offshore support, and served as General Manager for Topaz Energy and Marine in Saudi Arabia, enhancing operational efficiency and client relations. Earlier roles included Country Manager for Svitzer in Oman, Senior Project Manager at STC-Group, and various leadership positions within the Royal Netherlands Navy. Willem holds a Master's degree in Maritime Techniques from Delft University of Technology and has further academic leadership experience at the International Maritime College Oman.
