James Pierson

James Pierson has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. James started their career in the Army Special Forces as an Electronic Communications Specialist, where they gained experience in radio operations and signal communications. After their military service, James worked as a Network Engineer at Apple Computer, where they led a team in connecting buildings and troubleshooting network issues. James then joined Southern California Edison as a Network Engineer, where they specialized in resolving network and application performance issues.

James later joined Microsoft and held several roles, including Program Manager, Group Program Manager, and Principal Test Lead. James led teams focused on performance engineering, testing, and quality assurance for various Microsoft products. James also developed tools using data science and implemented automated build tests.

Following their time at Microsoft, James worked at GoDaddy as a Principal Performance Architect and Product Manager. In these roles, they managed performance improvement efforts across multiple products and taught developers best practices in performance and quality engineering.

Most recently, James has worked as a Consultant at RingStone, and is open to full-time opportunities as a Director-level SRE, QA Manager, Performance Engineer, or Product Manager. James is skilled in using tools such as Elasticsearch, SQL, Python, JavaScript, and Agile methodologies. Overall, James has a strong background in performance engineering, data analytics, and product management.

James Pierson's education history includes attending the Velocity Conference, US Army Special Forces, and Cypress College. At the Velocity Conference, they did not obtain a degree or specify a field of study. From 1979 to 1986, they attended the US Army Special Forces and focused on Radio Communications. At Cypress College, they pursued engineering without obtaining a degree. In addition, they obtained the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification from Amazon Web Services in March 2023.
