Anthony Canfell

Anthony Canfell serves as the Chief Advisor Processing & Technology at Rio Tinto since January 2004, leading a team focused on processing productivity, technical reviews, and process control improvements. With 18 years at Rio Tinto, previous roles include Manager Technical Development, where Anthony managed a team providing support to Gladstone bauxite mines and alumina refineries, and developed technology for Chinese customers. Earlier experience includes positions as Process Engineer at Australian Magnesium Corporation, Research Engineer at BHP, and Process Metallurgist at Mount Isa Mines. Academic credentials include a PhD in Chemical Engineering from The University of Queensland and a BE (Hons) in Chemical Engineering from UNSW, along with a Diploma of Management from Careers Australia.
