Lauren Brown

Lauren Brown is a seasoned professional in risk management and sustainable procurement with extensive experience across various leading companies in the mining and resources sector. Currently serving as Principal Advisor for Third Party Risk Management in Renewables and Value Chains at Rio Tinto since October 2025, Lauren previously held multiple senior roles at Mineral Resources Limited from August 2022 to October 2025, including Manager of Sustainability, Systems and Analytics and Senior Category Manager for Sustainable Procurement. Prior experience includes a position as Senior Specialist in Process and Governance at Fortescue Metals Group, and Principal Procurement Excellence at BHP. Lauren also directed operations in a self-employed capacity from 2016 to 2018 and began a career in strategic sourcing at Rio Tinto from 2011 to 2016 after working as a Risk Services Coordinator at Wesfarmers from 2007 to 2011. Lauren holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Murdoch University.
