Oupa Moagi

Oupa Moagi is an experienced professional in the mining and engineering sectors, currently serving as the Head of Health, Safety and Environment at Rio Tinto since April 2018. With a background that includes roles such as Senior Mine Manager and Engineering Manager, Oupa has managed various functions within the mining division, overseeing multiple teams and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Prior to joining Rio Tinto, Oupa held several engineering and maintenance positions at Palabora Mining Company, where responsibilities included managing smelter and refinery maintenance and overseeing maintenance plans. Oupa holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Johannesburg and has additional qualifications, including a Certificate in Management Development and an Electrical Engineers Certificate of Competency.
