Rodrigo Arellano

Rodrigo Arellano is a seasoned geotechnical and engineering professional with extensive experience in managing tailings dams and mine waste. Currently serving as the Responsible Dam Engineer for Major Hazard Closure at Rio Tinto since August 2023, Rodrigo previously held the position of Geotechnical Engineer for Tailings Dams and Mine Waste at BHP from June 2017 to July 2023. Rodrigo's career encompasses key roles at ARCADIS, SRK Consulting, E.C Rowe Cusonda, and GHD, where expertise in geotechnical engineering and project management was developed. Educationally, Rodrigo holds a Civil Engineering degree from Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria, an MBA from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Soil Mechanics from Universidad de Chile.
