Daniel de Kock

Daniel de Kock currently serves as the CIO at RIOT NETWORK, where responsibilities include embedded systems and network planning since January 2016. Their expertise spans various roles and projects, including serving as a technology facilitator at DIZ Tsimologong makerspace and founding Bushveld Labs, focusing on open-source hardware development and remote sensing. Daniel has been active in the maker community, co-organizing Maker Faire Africa and contributing to House4Hack since 2011. With a strong background in research and development for cash management devices at Cash 2 Digital and Qube Systems, Daniel has also engaged in academic support at Stellenbosch University during their undergraduate studies in Mechatronic Engineering. Daniel holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronic Engineering and various certifications in Linux, FPGA development, and machine learning. Additionally, Daniel is a licensed radio amateur with the call sign ZS6DDK.
